Digital Camera Plunge: Canon A95

I think I’m finally going to do it: buy my first digital camera. You’d think I would have bought one a long time ago, given my interests, but I’ve been so busy doing the digital video thing (I have a well-loved Sony TRV-900) that I’ve never been interested in still cameras.

Now that so many people have them, and great photo printers are widely available, and that I don’t like paying to develop pictures that didn’t turn out good anyway… it’s finally time. This camera is an updated model of Canon’s really great A series; I’ve read glowing reviews of previous models.

I got an A70 a couple years ago and it’s served me very well. The pictures it takes are great.

I was recently reminded how much I can’t go back to film. I forgot the camera on my way to an event, and I bought a nice disposable film camera on the way. I had a CD made instead of prints and they turned out awfully. It’s all digital for me from now on.
