Trying out flickr

So I’ve been looking for a nice program and allows me to do photo album management linked to my blog. I’m testing out two programs right now: flickr and Picasa.

So far I really like Picasa: it’s very intuitive, quick with graphics, and has the simplest slideshow facility in a program that I’ve ever used. The program allows you to post photos to a blogger blog through some program called “Hello”. (That seems overly complicated.) They also just got bought by Google.

Flickr is entirely web based, which has a certain “cool” factor for me as a web nerd. And the part I really like: I’m posting this to my blog from flickr’s interface, which also posts to quite a few different blog engines.

Cool.

Update Unfortunately, flickr doesn’t play nicely with WordPress if you have MarkDown installed. I had to place the CSS directives that flickr used into the proper elements by hand. Not hard, but not automated, which is what I’m really looking for.
