Learn Spanish in Antigua
Not that I wasn’t looking for any more reasons to learn to speak Spanish fluently (my Mom is Mexican but I don’t speak), but according to the Christian Science Monitor (my favorite news site, btw), some of the Spanish language schools there in Antigua, Guatemala, are doing some really great social justice work.
I’m not sure how long the csmonitor links to articles stick around, either.
But here’s one more: our culture loves to buy stuff in order to organize it. I guess having an organized living space is no longer a priority for busy Americans. Instead, we need to spend money on some cool storage gizmo in order to go home and feel motivated to put stuff into it.
Then again, looking at my room, that may not be a bad idea…
