While in Madrid
… be sure you get some sleep. I think this city thrives on the night life - I´ve been here and less than 24 hours and it seems that´s when things are going to be the most busy.
After seeing two amazing cities in the past two days though (Paris and San Sebastian, in Basque country) I´ve reached my limit of being able to take in new cities and today has been mostly a ¨lay low and recoup¨kind of day. I loved both of the previous two cities though - I´m definitely going to go back and visit them again some time.
Random notes about Madrid: it´s very warm here in August, it´s expensive to do your own laundry in a laundrymat, and I think siestas are a Good Thing.
I´m here looking for some good salsa clubs. Know of any out here? I hope the dancing in this city doesn´t disappoint.
And while I try and track those down I´m also trying to visit some places that I haven´t seen since I was little - I was probably six or seven years old when I was here last. The Plaza Mayor is definitely on my list, and who knows what else I´ll run into around this town.
James,
I didn’t know you were going to Spain!?!?! By yourself? How long? Going anywhere else in Europe? Be safe!
