In Hawai’i
… do as the Hawai’ians do.
I’m here for a little over a week visiting my sister and brother and am loving it. Although I don’t have quite as much sunshine as I was hoping for, I’ve eaten at great restaurants, enjoyed oyster shooters, gone hiking through a tropical rainforest, and read more of Cryptonomicron.
Oh, did I mention the great food around here? If you’re ever in Waimea, check out chef Daniel Thiebaut’s restaurant. The fresh tomato, red onion, and goat cheese salad was exceptionally flavorful. And try pairing the 20-year tawny port with the chocolate cake. Yum.
Tonight we’re going to Roy’s, so I’ll let you know how that compares. Pictures will be posted shortly…
