What I Enjoyed in Hawai’i
My Hawai’i photos are up now.
Over the course of 9 days I got to…
- hike through a rainforest and a volcano crater
- eat Vanilla wafers
- drive a Prius, a Jeep, and a truck
- stay up late and sleep in late
- drink fresh strawberry margaritas
- dance salsa at my siter’s place
- eat at Daniel Thiebaut’s restaurant
- dance at Lulu’s
- drink fresh mango margaritas
- watch “Just Like Heaven”
- eat “Hawaiian Fusion” food at Roy’s
- drink vodka tonics
- dance at Durty Jake’s
- lay on the beach
- eat delicious homemade enchiladas
- dance salsa at a house party
- offroad in the jeep to get to a beach
- go body boarding
- take lots of photographs
- meet Angie, JC, Fatima, Diane, Jenny, Carlynn and lots of other salsa dancers
- watch 3 different sun sets
- see a lava flow touch the ocean
- eat at Kenichi’s restaurant in Keahou
- try my first oyster-vodka shooter
- lay by the pool
- dance salsa in the condo I was staying in
- read most of the rest of Cryptonomicron
- drink a pina colada after noon
- enjoy 2 very delicious choclate souffles
- receive a full-body massage and soak in a hot tub
And all of that was just about being able to
- relax, breathe, and enjoy myself
My favorite, though, was being able to hang out and talk story with my sister and brother. I miss them both even though I’ve only been back a day.
